Sunrise, Zicatela Beach. One of the world's most iconic waves pounds the sand as early light breaks across the water, and the morning mist rises with the swell. Here, Zicatela's relentless surf has earned a reputation that precedes it, a destination where surfers chase the thrill of powerful waves and travelers find peace in the ocean's unending rhythm.
All is visible from Casa Flow's covered rooftop, a panoramic perch that's both a gathering spot and a sanctuary. From here, residents can get a quick read on the surf conditions below, spotting familiar breaks and feeling the ocean's pull. On lucky mornings, there's a chance to see something magical: whales migrating along the coast, rising and plunging in the distance as they follow their ancient path through the Pacific.

Life at Casa Flow
Located in Puerto Escondido's vibrant Zicatela district, Casa Flow is where the essence of coliving meets the thrill of coastal life. The property's ten spacious rooms are outfitted with everything remote workers and digital nomads need, from sturdy work desks to high-speed internet, backed by starlink, that runs throughout the property. Designed to blend productivity with relaxation, Casa Flow features two large shared kitchens, hammocks strung in scenic spots, and cozy nooks for those quiet moments with a morning coffee or evening read.
Community lies at the heart of Casa Flow's appeal, offering a laid-back yet lively social environment. Here, it's common to see residents gathering for sunset beach outings, organizing impromptu surf sessions, or sharing meals that bring together flavors from different corners of the world. It's a lifestyle that brings together relaxation, work, and adventure—a space to connect with others who share a love for surf, sun, and life by the ocean.

Puerto Escondido
Puerto Escondido, with its iconic waves and eclectic blend of local and international cultures, is more than a destination—it's a way of life. Just blocks from Casa Flow is Mercado Zicatela, where you can savor Oaxacan flavors, find fresh produce, and chat with local vendors. Nearby, restaurants and beachside bars offer an endless array of options, from hearty breakfasts to evening cocktails, making every day here a culinary and cultural journey. We highly recommend Chicama for healthy peruvian delights, and Fish Shack for incredible fish tacos.
For those craving adventure beyond the town's borders, Puerto Escondido is ideally positioned. You can rent a motorbike and take to the coast, weaving up and down scenic coastal roads to find secluded beaches and hidden spots where it's just you and the ocean. This coastline is dotted with quiet retreats, where untouched stretches of sand and coastal solitude create an idyllic escape just a short ride from the lively energy of Puerto Escondido.
For those who enjoy unwinding after sunset, Puerto Escondido has a solid nightlife scene, especially along Zicatela Beach. A lineup of bars, beach parties, and live music venues hum to life, offering residents and visitors alike a chance to celebrate their day's adventures with others. Whether it's a casual drink with friends or dancing under the stars, this coastal town keeps the energy going well into the night.
At Casa Flow, residents can enjoy the rhythm of Puerto Escondido, with a balance of solo time, work, and community living. Whether catching the sunrise on the rooftop, connecting over a shared meal, or watching the sunset over Zicatela, it's a place where the spirit of co-living thrives against the stunning backdrop of the Pacific coast.
Owner Interview
We caught up with Diego, owner of Casa Flow, to find out more about life at his coliving…
What makes Casa Flow stand out as a special place to stay?
"Casa Flow isn't about the architecture," Diego shared thoughtfully. "It's about attracting the kind of people I'd want to meet—laid-back individuals who either already know how to relax or want to learn how to be chill." Casa Flow offers an intimate setup with just ten private rooms, which "brings people close together, even if they're usually in their 'caves' back home." He emphasized that Casa Flow feels like a true home rather than a hotel or hostel, adding, "Treat it like your house with new friends, where connections happen naturally and effortlessly."
What do you personally love most about living in Puerto Escondido?
He smiled when asked about Puerto Escondido, saying, "The waves, no question. It's hard to leave a place with waves like these." But beyond surfing, he added, "Living here feels like a dream. It's a simple, small-town life with amazing weather and people from all over the world. I sometimes feel guilty because it's such a 'dream lifestyle'—no hustle, no consumerism, just shorts, swimsuits, and sunsets." Reflecting on his lifestyle here, he continued, "Every sunset is a reminder of where I am. It's easy to be in awe of the palm trees, the community, and the chance to feel more like an animal, a human being, in tune with nature. Puerto Escondido brings that out in you."
How would you describe the overall vibe and atmosphere of Casa Flow? Are there any regular events or traditions that bring everyone together?
"It's definitely not a party house, though people do have their fun," he clarified, laughing. "We often have dinners together or watch the sunset, but there's no rigid schedule. I don't like anything too structured." Instead, Casa Flow's vibe is flexible and shaped by the current group. "Every month brings a new group, so the activities depend on who's here. I encourage everyone to suggest things in the WhatsApp group, whether it's a weekend beach trip, a casual lunch, or clubbing," he explained. "The house isn't the focus; it's the connections and community that really define the place."
